Benson Glacier
Benson Glacier is located on the northeast side of Glacier Peak, although other ice masses on the peak/along Eagle Cap ridge have been called Benson Glacier. Benson is now a stagnant ice mass and this stagnation has occurred since the early 1990s. With this stagnation, the Wallowa Mountains are now a glacier-free mountain range. The extent and area of Benson Glacier provided below is based on 1981 photographs used in making the U.S.G.S. topographic map.
