North Sister

North Sister had five glaciers, four of which were named. Going clockwise around the peak from the northwest aspect, these are:

The extent of glaciers on North Sister is based on photographs from the 1950s. Lower at left is a satellite image from September 2021 showing the current extent of ice.

Of North Sisters's glaciers, two have fully vanished: Thayer and Crack. Thayer was located on the east flank with a large moraine. Crack was never named but photographs show a glacier there in the 1960s after the U.S.G.S. mapping; it was located between Linn and Villard Glaciers

Linn Glacier is almost completely gone and is only a remnant of stagnant ice hanging on the mountain side that will disappear soon.
