While glacier change mainly reflects summer temperatures, the other key variable is peak snowpack on the glacier. OGI has teamed up with the Mazama Mountaineering Club in Portland to set up a citizen scientist program where winter climb/ski leaders will make rapid snowpack measurements on Mt. Hood's glaciers, focusing on Eliot Glacier.
