OGI Summer News & Thanks!

We are excited to begin fieldwork next week to construct the first history of glacier change in the Oregon Cascades from the height of the last ice age up to present! This is only possible with your continued support and we thank you! Such information will allow us to assess Oregon's glacier sensitivity to changes in temperature and atmospheric CO2, establishing a baseline against which today's changes can be assessed.

We also are putting together plans, again thanks to your support and contribution of historic photographs, to precisely document retreat of Mt. Hood's glaciers over the last 20 years. This unique opportunity from donated photographs will provide key evidence of climate change's impacts on Oregon and its water that will hopefully spur our government to meaningful and real action on stopping the state's use of fossil fuels and providing alternative renewable energy sources.

More soon!
