Thayer Glacier
Thayer Glacier used to flow on the east flank of North Sister, depositing a large end moraine. The glacier may have been close to disappearing by the late 1930s but regrew after World War II. It is now gone. Snow cover for much of the summer makes it difficult to determine precisely when the glacier disappeared but the region has been bare of snow in the late summer at least since 2015.
